The quick close ups show the intensity of the scene and the fact Lorena and Bill are both screaming makes it seem a lot more passionate and sexual. The lighting is very low key which connotes sex and desire. Sex in Vampire films could act as a sexual awakening for young females and suggest adult themes which they are not yet aware of. This content draws in a younger audience as they seem to be curious and interested in the topic. Also, Laura Mulvey states “rape scenes are shot from the perpetrator’s, not the victim’s point of view therefore underpinning the male gaze” this highlights male viewers can also be attracted to the Vampire genre by the use of camera angles and positioning of the female characters.
